What is Tadalafil for?
Tadalafil is a drug with a function to treat problems with sexual function in men (impotent or erectile dysfunction / erectile dysfunction-ED). In combination with sex drive, tadalafil works by increasing blood flow to the penis to help a man get an erection.
Tadalafil is also used to treat symptoms of an enlarged prostate (benign prostatic hyperplasia-BPH). What is the Tadalafil dosage for adults?
Standard adult dosage for Erectile Dysfunction:
Erectile Dysfunction:
10 mg taken by mouth before sexual activity takes place. The maximum recommended dose frequency for most patients is once daily. Alternatively, 2.5 mg orally once a day, regardless of the timing of sexual activity. May be increased to 5 mg orally once a day based on effectiveness and tolerability.
Erectile dysfunction and benign prostatic hyperplasia:
5 mg orally at the same time every day.
Standard adult dosage for Pulmonary Hypertension:
40 mg taken by mouth once a day, with or without food. Splitting the dose (40 mg) is not recommended.
Standard adult dosage for Benign prostatic hyperplasia:
Benign prostatic hyperplasia and benign prostatic hyperplasia with erectile dysfunction:
5 mg taken at the same time every day.

What side effects can be experienced due to Tadalafil?

Stop using tadalafil and call your doctor if you experience the following serious side effects:
- Changes in vision or sudden loss of vision

- Irregular heartbeat
- Shortness of breath, swelling of the hands or feet
- Feel dizzy, faint; or
- Pain in the penis when there is an erection or an erection lasts 4 hours or more.
Less serious side effects include:
- Redness or warmth of the face, neck, or chest
- Flu symptoms such as congestion, sneezing, or sore throat
- Headache
- Memory problems
- Diarrhea, stomach upset; or
- Pain in muscles or back.

Allergy

Children

Elderly

What health conditions may interact with Tadalafil?
The presence of other health problems in your body may affect the use of this drug. Tell your doctor if you have other health problems, in particular:
- Abnormal penises, including penises that are curved and those with birth defects — The chance of problems may increase and this medicine should be used with caution in patients with this condition.
- Age over 50 years
- Coronary artery disease
- Diabetes
- Hyperlipidemia (high lipids or fats in the blood)
- Hypertension (high blood pressure)

- Smoking - In this condition there is a serious risk to the eye called non-arteritic ischemic optic neuropathy or NAION.

- Hypotension (low blood pressure)
- Abnormalities in the retina

- Bone marrow cancer
- Leukemia (cancer related to blood)
- Multiple myeloma
- Sickle cell anemia (blood disorder) —Tadalafil should be used with caution in patients with this condition because it can result in problems with the penis being erect for too long.
- Heart disease — Low blood pressure is high; tadalafil should be used with caution in patients with this condition
- Severe kidney disease
- Liver disease — Use with caution. The risk of getting unwanted side effects is quite high. Can be used by starting at the lowest dose and increasing as needed and tolerance.
- NAION (serious eye condition) in one or both eyes — Your risk of getting NAION is again high.
Tadalafil overdose
What should I do in an emergency or overdose?
In case of an emergency or overdose, contact the local emergency services provider (112) or immediately to the nearest hospital emergency department.
What should I do if I miss a dose?
If you forget a dose of this medicine, take it as soon as possible. However, when it is nearing the time of the next dose, skip the missed dose and return to the usual dosing schedule. Don't double the dose.
