1. Experiencing severe morning sickness
Some people think that a pregnant woman who experiences severe morning sickness means that she is pregnant with a daughter.
In fact, morning sickness or nausea is the most common sign of the early trimester of pregnancy. Morning sickness occurs due to an increase in two pregnancy hormones, namely the hormone gonadotropin (hCG) and estrogen, along with a very low drop in blood sugar. In mothers whose symptoms are very severe, this nausea is known as hyperemesis gravidarum.
Morning sickness usually starts at the 6th week of pregnancy and stops at the 12th week. Morning sickness has nothing to do with the sex of the baby.
2. Extreme mood changes
Mood changes during pregnancy are influenced by increased levels of estrogen (female sex hormone) which is then associated as a sign of being pregnant with a girl.
In fact, no medical studies support this theory. Mood changes are greatly influenced by estrogen levels in the body, but this is a hormonal effect that is common and naturally occurs in every pregnancy. The level of estrogen levels does not determine the sex of the baby.
3. The shape of the belly is more prominent at the top
Perhaps this is a myth of how to predict the sex of a baby is the most popular and is still believed today.
In fact, the shape of the stomach has nothing to do with the sex of the baby in the womb. The uterus will continue to enlarge throughout the gestational age to facilitate the growth and development of the fetus, regardless of gender.

4. The baby's heartbeat is fast
Some people believe that a baby's heart rate beating faster than 140 beats per second is a sign of a baby girl.
Girls' heartbeats are usually faster than boys, but this tends to happen after they are born. As long as it is still in the stomach, there is no significant difference between the heart rate of a female and a male fetus.
The fetal heart rate while in the womb will also continue to fluctuate. In the first 5 weeks of pregnancy, the fetal heart rate will approximate the mother's, which is between 80-85 beats per minute. Furthermore, at the 9th week it will be 170-200 beats per minute.
With time until finally approaching the day of delivery, the rate will slowly slow down to 120-160 beats per minute.
5. Cravings to eat sweet things
Some people say that during pregnancy, sweet cravings mean that you are carrying a baby girl, while salty or sour cravings mean a baby boy.
In fact, cravings have absolutely nothing to do with the sex of the baby. Pregnant women who have food cravings are thought to be due to deficiencies of certain minerals during pregnancy.
6. Weight gain only in the abdominal area
It is said that if you gain weight only around the middle area of your stomach, this is a sign that you are pregnant with a girl. Meanwhile, if the weight gain is only felt at the front end, it means that you are pregnant with a boy.
In fact, the weight of pregnant women will feel evenly heavy on all sides.
7. Oily skin and dull hair
Did you have oily skin during pregnancy or your hair turned dull? These are also considered signs that you are pregnant with a girl.
It is said that because a baby girl will attract her mother's beauty, your physical appearance will change completely. Of course this myth is not true.
Facial skin and hair that gets oilier during pregnancy are affected by hormonal changes which also increase the production of oil in the skin and scalp. Not due to the gender of the baby.
