There are several types of tattoos
So far, maybe you only know tattoos just for style. But, actually there are several types of tattoos that you need to know, namely:
- Amateur tattoos, are tattoos that are not made by tattoo experts with makeshift equipment. The basic principle of tattooing is to insert ink / pigment into the skin using a needle - that's why anyone can actually make a tattoo. This type of amateur tattoo is usually done by pricking ink, charcoal, or ash under the skin using a pin. The tools used are often unhygienic and therefore have a much higher risk of infection.
- Cultural tattoos, are tattoos that are made for a specific purpose -such as for rituals or as a sign of beauty.
- Professional tattoos, are tattoos made by tattoo experts using a tattoo machine.
- Cosmetic tattoos, are tattoos that are made as “permanent” make-up, such as tattoos for lipstick, eyebrows, blush, wigs, and others. Cosmetic tattoo ink needs to be redone to keep the color fresh.
- Medical tattoos, are tattoos that are made for specific medical purposes.
The dangers of tattoos that can stalk you
If the tattoo is not used using sterile tools, it will increase the risk of infection. Here are some of the risks or dangers of tattoos that you can experience, especially if you are tattooed with non-sterile tools:
Infection. Tattooing with non-sterile tools increases the risk of developing viral, bacterial, or fungal infections such as HIV or hepatitis C. The bacterial species that causes infection, Mycobacterium chelonae, can cause a painful rash that can last for months.
Infections can also occur due to the ink used when tattooing. If after tattooing your skin becomes red, swollen, sore, or dries up, you need to consult a doctor for proper treatment.
Allergic reactions. Allergic reactions can be caused by the ink used. These dyes or metals can injure the tissue or cause swelling or a rash on the skin.
Make skin inspection difficult. Tattoos can cover up possible skin problems. Doctors may find it difficult to examine the skin or when looking for moles that may be cancerous.
Sun exposure makes tattoos itchy. For some people, sun exposure can cause tattoos to become itchy and red. This is usually due to the content contained in the ink used for tattooing
Each color of tattoo ink has different characteristics
Laser surgery is the most effective tattoo removal technique. However, each color has different characteristics. The more color you have in your tattoo, the more difficult it will usually be to remove.
Black is the easiest color to get rid of because it can absorb more of the laser wave. Yellow and orange are very resistant to lasers. Whereas red and green react differently based on what substance is used to compose them. Therefore, it is better to get a tattoo using a base color and a darker color - to make it easier when you want to remove it.
The long-term effects of tattoo ink can adversely affect the immune system, pathology of specimen interpretation, and other unexpected health complications. Tattoo ink can also be toxic because some contain carcinogenic compounds.
