What foods do you usually look for when it rains? Instant noodles, right? Especially when served boiled coupled with a few slices of cayenne pepper. Instant noodles may indeed have become the favorite food of most Indonesians, especially boarding children at the end of the month. But do you know the dangers of instant noodles if you eat them too often?

Instant noodles are one of the foods that have been processed. Processed food is not just food that has been finished and then heated again. Processed food is food that has been changed from its original form to a new form for reasons of health, enjoyment, or other reasons. Processes that can occur in food processing include cooling, cooking, heating and drying. The dangers of instant noodles if eaten too often are related to the many chemical processes and the addition of other ingredients that are not good for health.

The dangers of instant noodles for health

Processed foods generally only add salt, sugar, and fat to give them a more delicious taste, as well as make them durable and can be stored for a longer time. Sometimes, the addition of some of these ingredients can also affect the appearance of processed food, and can even increase the desire for people to eat it.

But with the addition of this sugar, of course the fat contained in these processed foods will also increase, and the nutritional content in it is certainly not much. So, the dangers of instant noodles on our bodies if eaten too often include:

1. Metabolic syndrome

Research conducted by Hyun Shin, revealed that women who consume instant noodles two or more times a week, have a higher risk of developing metabolic syndrome compared to those who do not eat instant noodles at all.

This study was conducted on 11,000 adults aged 19 to 64 years. Participants were asked to report what they ate, then a list of these foods would be classified by the researchers. This metabolic syndrome occurs due to the high content of sodium and unhealthy saturated fats, which are found in instant noodles.

2. Diabetes

Instant noodles are made from maida. Maida is processed wheat flour that has undergone a process of grinding, refining, and bleaching. According to doctor Simran Saini, a nutritionist at Fortis Hospital in New Delhi, the maida contained in instant noodles is just an additive that does not contain any nutrients other than being rich in flavor. So that consumption of Maida will only lead to obesity.

Apart from that, maida also has a high sugar content so that consumption of maida can increase your blood sugar. When you take maida, your pancreas will immediately release insulin to digest it, which should take some time. This condition can lead to swelling and potentially type 2 diabetes.

How to deal with the dangers of this instant noodle?

Lisa Young, a nutritionist and professor at New York University, said that in fact instant noodles can still be consumed and the health effects they cause can still be controlled. The trick is to not consume it every day, control the portion you eat at each consumption, and you should combine its presentation with other foods that are not processed and healthier foods, such as vegetables and eggs.
