Menstruation generally comes once a month with PMS symptoms preceded first. However, not all women experience PMS, making it difficult for them to "predict" when monthly guests will visit. 1. Stomach cramps

Stomach cramps are the most typical sign of menstruation. It usually appears 1 to 2 days before your menstrual schedule. Relax, these stomach cramps will usually go away when you have your period.

2. Pimples appear

Apart from cramps, pimples are the most easily recognized sign of menstruation. The body's hormone levels that rise before menstruation can cause facial skin to produce excess oil (sebum). The buildup of oil over time will clog pores and "produce" acne.

3. Breasts feel solid and painful to the touch

If the breasts feel swollen, heavier, and feel pain especially on the outer side, this is a sign that your period is coming. Breast changes are caused by an increase in the hormone prolactin, a hormone that increases milk production.

4. Tired but difficult to sleep

When the monthly guests arrive soon, it will be more difficult for you to sleep at night even though your body is already very tired. It is the accumulation of a combination of hormonal changes prior to menstruation coupled with physical stress due to body exhaustion and emotional stress from daily activities.

5. Constipation or diarrhea

Some women may complain of indigestion a few days before menstruation comes, such as constipation or diarrhea.

This is due to the increase in hormones before menstruation. An increase in prostaglandins triggers the intestines to contract, causing diarrhea, while an increase in progesterone can trigger constipation.

6. Flatulence

Have you eaten regularly, but your stomach still feels bloated and gassy? It could be that soon you want your period.

To fix this, try to reduce your intake of high-salt foods and replace them by eating more fruits and vegetables, and exercising regularly.

7. Headache

Some women who are about to have their period usually experience severe headaches. Apparently, this has something to do with changes in body estrogen levels that can disrupt hormones in the brain. As a result, headaches cannot be avoided.

8. Mood swing

Apart from physical changes, menstruation can also change your mood to become unstable - aka mood swings. You may become irritable or suddenly cry, even though you were happy before.
