When a man reaches orgasm, the body should release the semen containing sperm through the penis. However, it turns out that there are some people who experience ejaculation problems that cause sperm to not come out. In fact, the body is already showing signs of other orgasms such as muscle contractions. Wow, dangerous or not, huh? The following are descriptions of some conditions that may prevent sperm from coming out.
1. Delayed ejaculation (delayed ejaculation)
Delayed ejaculation or delayed ejaculation is a condition when a man needs sexual stimulation that is longer than usual (more than 30 minutes) to be able to climax and release semen containing sperm cells. In fact, some people who experience delayed ejaculation cannot ejaculate at all. This means that you cannot remove sperm during sexual intercourse with a partner.
This condition is usually caused by certain health problems, consumption of drugs, to mental disorders. Delayed ejaculation can be a long-term health problem that is lifelong or occurs over a period of time and is temporary.
2. Retrograde ejaculation
Retrograde ejaculation or reverse ejaculation occurs when the semen that should be excreted through the penis during orgasm enters the bladder. During orgasm, the bladder neck muscles cannot tighten and close properly. As a result, when you are about to ejaculate, the sperm that was going to be excreted through the penis will actually flow and enter the bladder.
Although not dangerous, retrograde ejaculation can make a man infertile and difficult to have children. Apart from not releasing sperm, this condition is characterized by urine that is paler and slightly thick because it contains semen that should be released during orgasm.
3. Laser prostate surgery
Prostate surgery with laser technology is usually performed because of an enlarged prostate, aka benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). The laser will help shrink or remove excess tissue in the prostate.
With surgical procedures, symptoms associated with bladder problems due to an enlarged prostate can be resolved. For example, urinary tract infections, frequent urination, slow urinary rate, and a series of other symptoms.
Unfortunately, a common side effect that is usually felt from this procedure is dry orgasm. Dry orgasm is a condition when the body is unable to release sperm when it reaches the peak of sexual pleasure.
4. Hypogonadism
Hypogonadism is when the body doesn't produce enough testosterone. In men, the hormone testosterone is the key to growth and sexual maturity. One of the functions of testosterone is producing sperm. If a man has hypogonadism, it is possible that his puberty is late or that his sexual organs are not fully developed. One of them is growth disturbances in the penis and testicles or testes.
If the growth of the penis and testes is disturbed, it is not impossible that sperm production will be disrupted. This is because sperm is produced in the testes and the body requires sufficient testosterone to be able to produce sperm normally.
So, if you experience this condition you are at risk for impotence, which is when the penis is unable to achieve an erection and sperm do not come out like in regular ejaculation.
5. Blockage of the sperm duct
The presence of blockage in the epididymis and vas deferens can interfere with the process of transporting sperm to be excreted through the penis. The epididymis is a place to store and ripen sperm. Meanwhile, the vas deferens is a tube-shaped channel that channels sperm to escape when ejaculation occurs.
Blockages in these two parts can cause a man to be unable to remove sperm during ejaculation. Infection, vasectomy (male sterile FP), and also problems with the prostate can cause blocked sperm ducts.
In some cases, this condition does not show definite symptoms. However, if the blockage is caused by an infection, there is usually a whitish discharge that comes out of the penis accidentally, painful urination, and inflammation.
