What is Nefopam used for?

What is the dosage for Nefopam for adults?

Oral

Acute Pain and Chronic Pain

Adults: Initially, 60 mg but can range from 30-90 mg three times a day. Maximum: 300 mg daily.

Elderly: Initially, 30 mg three times a day.

Intramuscular

Acute pain and chronic pain

Adults: 20 mg repeated every 6 hours if needed. The patient must lie down while receiving the injection and must remain lying down for 15-20 minutes.

Through blood vessels

Acute Pain and Chronic Pain

Adults: 20 mg by slow intravenous injection every 4 hours. Maximum 120 mg daily. The patient must lie down while receiving the injection and must remain lying down for 15-20 minutes.

What to do in an emergency or overdose?

In case of an emergency or overdose, contact the local emergency services provider (119) or immediately to the nearest hospital emergency department.

Symptoms: Deep coma with bundle branch block, fever, oliguric mydriasis, renal failure, ventricular arrhythmias, convulsions. Management: symptomatic and supportive.
