What is the drug Hyaluronidase for?

Hyaluronidase is a genetically designed protein drug. Hyaluronidase is useful to help absorb other injected drugs. Hyaluronidase is also useful to help show contrast dye in the body more clearly on certain types of x-rays or scans. Hyaluronidase may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.

What are the rules for using Hyaluronidase?

This drug is injected under the skin. The health care provider will provide this injection.

How to store Hyaluronidase?

Store the medicine at room temperature away from light and moisture. Do not store in the bathroom and freeze medication. Different brands of drugs may have different storage methods. Check the product box for instructions on how to store it, or ask the pharmacist. Stay away from children and pets.

It is forbidden to flush the medicine in the toilet or throw it into the drain if not told to. Properly discard this product if it is past the deadline or is no longer needed. Consult a pharmacist or local waste disposal company for more in-depth details on how to safely dispose of the product.

What is the Hyaluronidase dosage for adults?

Adult dosage for extravasation: Stop infusion and give five 0.2 ml injections of 15 units / mL solution under the skin or into the skin around the extravasation area, using 25 or 26 measuring needles for each injection. Give it within one hour after extravasation for best results.
People's dosage for hypodermolysis: After inserting the needle, start clysis with the needle tip that can move freely between the skin and muscles. The fluid should be ready to enter without pain or lumps. Then the hyaluronidase must be injected into the rubber tube close to the needle.
Another method: inject hyaluronidase under the skin before clysis. 150-200 units will facilitate absorption of 1000 mL or more of solution.
Adult dose for subcutaneous urography: Inject 75 units into each scapula, followed by injection of contrast medium in the same area.

What is the dose of Hyaluronidase for children?

Child dosage for extravasation:

Stop infusion and give five 0.2 ml injections of 15 units / mL solution under the skin or into the skin around the extravasation area, using 25 or 26 measuring needles for each injection. Give it within one hour after extravasation for best results.

Some centers use 150 units / mL of hyaluronidase solution and, without further dilution, give an injection of 0.2 mL under or deep into the skin into the front extravasation area as soon as possible (within 1 hour) after extravasation is detected.

Child dosage for hypodermolysis

Premature or newborn babies: The daily dose of clysis should not exceed 25 mL / kg and the number of administrations should not exceed 2 mL per minute.
Less than 3 years: The volume of clysis should not exceed 200 mL.
Infants and children: 15 units are added to every 100 ml of replacement fluid to be administered or 150 units are injected under the skin, followed by administration of isotonic fluids under the skin in an amount suitable for the patient's age, weight and clinical condition, 150 units allows absorption of more than 1000 mL of solution. The dosage, the number of injections, and the type of solution must be differentiated. The amount and volume of clysis must be controlled to avoid fluid overload. Hypovolemia is possible if an electrolyte-free solution is given. Addition of adequate electrolytes and / or control volume and amount of administration will prevent hypovolemia.

Child dosage for subcutaneous urography

Inject 75 units into each scapula, followed by injection of contrast medium in the same area.

In what dosage and preparation is Hyaluronidase available?

Hyaluronidase was stored sterile as 150 units of USP non-preserved recombinant human hyaluronidase per mL in small, disposable glass bottles.

Side effects

What side effects may occur due to Hyaluronidase?

Get emergency medical help if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction: hives difficulty breathing swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat.

Milder side effects may include pain, itching, redness, or swelling at the injection site.

There are no adequate studies regarding the risks of using this drug in pregnant or breastfeeding women. Always consult your doctor to weigh the potential benefits and risks before using this medication. This medicine is included in the pregnancy risk category C (A = No risk, B = No risk in some studies, C = Possible risk, D = There is positive evidence of risk, X = Contraindicated, N = Unknown)

There are not sufficient studies in women to determine infant risk if using this medicine during breastfeeding. Consider the possible risk-fighting benefits before using this medication while breastfeeding.

What medicines may interact with Hyaluronidase?

Certain drugs cannot be used with meals or when eating certain foods because drug interactions can occur. Consuming alcohol or tobacco with certain drugs can also cause interactions to occur. Discuss with a healthcare professional about using drugs with food, alcohol, or tobacco.
