Metabolism is a factor that determines the success of losing weight. You have to keep your body's metabolism stable so that the calories that you enter are less than what you leave out. If not, this is what causes the diet to fail.
Habits that cause diet failure
One of the causes of failed diets is a disruption in the rate or metabolic processes. Metabolism is a chemical process to convert food and drink in the body into energy.
The body then uses this energy to carry out various functions such as breathing, pumping blood, repairing cells, and many more.
When a person burns calories, the process in question is metabolism. This process continues as long as you are alive, even when you are sleeping or not doing any activity.
The faster your metabolic rate, the more calories you burn. In other words, the easier it will be for you to lose weight.
However, the metabolic rate can be disrupted by the following habits, causing your diet to fail.
1. The wrong type of exercise
One of the causes of failed diets is the wrong type of exercise. Each sport has a different use. Even though it can burn calories, the wrong exercise routine will certainly not bring optimal results.
You can solve this by applying high intensity interval training (HIIT). To do this, do cardio exercises, such as running and jumping rope in a short time, which is about 10 seconds to 5 minutes according to the type of exercise.
Do the exercise as hard as you can, then take breaks. The duration of the rest depends on the amount of exercise you do. If you were running before sprint for 20 seconds, resting for 10 seconds.
2. Insufficient food intake
Reducing food intake drastically will actually slow down the body's metabolic rate. As a result, the number of calories burned is small. This is one of the causes of failed diets, but you don't realize it.
Even if you're trying to lose weight, try to keep eating. What must be considered is the choice of food. Choose natural foods with a balanced diet such as fish, eggs, vegetables and fruit, lean meats, avocados, nuts, and seeds.
3. Eating snacks high in refined carbohydrates
Be careful when choosing snacks, detox juices, or low-calorie products for people on a diet. These products are usually high in refined carbohydrates and are a major cause of your diet failing.
Refined carbohydrates can raise blood sugar and bring it back down quickly. This condition makes you feel hungry easily. As a result, you tend to eat more, which messes up your ongoing metabolic rate.
4. Lack of sleep
Lack of sleep can also be a cause of diet failure. During sleep, your body produces a hormone called melatonin. This hormone increases the metabolic rate as well as certain fats that play a role in burning energy.
Melatonin can't function optimally if you don't get enough sleep. The metabolic rate eventually drops dramatically, as does the number of calories burned. As a result, it is difficult for you to lose weight.
After knowing the various causes that unconsciously made your diet fail, of course, now you will be more careful in carrying out it.
There is no easy or practical way to lose weight. You need to do it slowly, starting with understanding what habits can disrupt your metabolic rate and avoiding them.
Balance the number of calories that enter your body with those that go out. Every food that comes in needs to be balanced with exercise that burns calories. Complete your day with enough sleep so that your diet is not only successful, but also healthy.
