What is Vitacid used for?
Vitacid is a drug in its formcream to get rid of acne. Vitacid is an ointment containing tretinoin or retinoic acid (retinoic acid).
This ointment acne medication helps reduce acne growth, relieves the pain of inflammatory acne, and speeds up the healing process of inflamed acne.
In addition, this drug can also help treat, control, reduce, and improve skin conditions that are dry, rough, and have wrinkles. Vitacid works by affecting the growth of cells in the skin.
How do you use Vitacid?
Vitacid is used by applying it directly to the problem skin. But beforehand, make sure you wash your hands and clean the target skin area first before using this medicine.
Wait until the skin is completely dry after cleaning, then use this remedy. Use your finger, cotton swab, or cotton ball to squeeze out a small amount of the medicine and then apply it lightly to the skin.
This medication is usually used once a day at bedtime, or as directed by a doctor. This medication should only be used on the skin. Avoid using it on the lips, nose, mouth, around the eyes, and on skin that is injured or has eczema.

The following are the recommended dosages of Vitacid for adults:
Dosage of Vitacid for acne in adults
Initial dose: apply a small amount, thin, to the area of skin with acne or problems once a day before going to bed.
Inflammation of acne may worsen during the initial phase of therapy (3-4 weeks after first use) due to the effects of tretinoin on the skin.
The healing process is gradual and the end results are not visible until 6-12 weeks or more. The use of Vitacid should be continued until the new pimples have stopped appearing on the skin for several months, or after the desired results have been achieved.
For cases of worsening acne (acne exacerbation) which can also occur during the initial phase of therapy (3-4 weeks) as a result of the action of tretinoin on subclinical comedones. The dosage thereafter may need to be reduced after long-term use.
What is the dosage of Vitacid for children?
The safety and effectiveness of this drug have not been established in pediatric patients (less than 18 years).
In what dosages and preparations is this drug available?
Vitacid is available as an ointment or cream for adults. Its content is tretinoid or retionic acid (retinoic acid), which is a type of vitamin A derivative.
This drug is available in 3 packages according to the percent tretinoid content in it, namely Vitacid 0.05%, Vitacid 0.025%, and Vitacid 0.1%.
Side effects
What are the possible side effects of Vitacid?
There are several possible side effects of using this drug. Stop using the drug and consult a doctor immediately if you experience one or more of the following side effects:
- Swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat
- Dry skin
