Phenazopyridine is a drug used to relieve symptoms caused by irritation of the urinary tract, such as pain and heat when urinating, and an urge to urinate frequently.
Phenazopyridine will not treat the irritant cause of urination, but it can help relieve symptoms temporarily.
Phenazopyridine is a dye that works as a painkiller to calm the lining of the urinary tract.
What are the rules for taking phenazopyridine HCl?
Take phenazopyridine usually 3 times a day with meals or as directed by your doctor. If you are taking this medicine along with antibiotics for symptoms related to urinary tract infection or self-medication, do not use it for more than 2 days without talking to your doctor.

Phenazopyridine dose for treating dysuria: 190-200 mg orally 3 times a day after meals. Do not use for more than 2 days when used with antibacterial urinary.
What is the dosage of phenazopyridine HCl for children?
Phenazopyridine dose for children with dysuria aged 6-18 years: 12 mg / kg / day of phenazopyridine orally, divided into 3 doses for two days. Maximum dose: 600 mg / day.

Side effects
