Uses
What medicine is Orinase?
Orinase is an oral drug used to help control blood sugar in adult patients with type two diabetes. Orinase used in conjunction with a proper diet and exercise program will help blood sugar in its normal state optimally. The use of other diabetes drugs is sometimes needed even after taking Orinase if needed.
Orinase is a trademark of tolbutamide which works by helping the pancreas to produce more insulin, especially after meals. This medication is not used for blood sugar control in patients with type one diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis
What are the rules for drinking Orinase?
Take this medication as directed by your doctor. This medication is usually taken by mouth in the morning, once a day. You can also divide Orinase into smaller doses to take several times a day, especially since this medicine can cause stomach pain, so you may need a lower dose.
To lower your risk of developing side effects, your doctor may give you a low dose at the start of treatment and increase it until you find the best dose that works for you. The dose given takes into account your body's response to medication and your health condition. Do not change your dose or stop this medication without discussing it with your doctor.
Use Orinase regularly to get the best benefits. To make it easier for you to remember, take this medication every day at the same time. Tell your doctor if this condition does not improve or gets worse (blood sugar is too low or high).
