Nalbuphine is a medication for moderate to severe pain. This medication is also used to treat pain after surgery or childbirth.

What should be considered before using the drug Nalbuphine?
Before using Nalbuphine,
- Tell your doctor that you have an allergy to Nalbuphine or any other medicine that contains sulfites, or any other medicine.
- Tell your doctor and pharmacist about any medications you are currently taking, whether prescribed by your doctor or those that are not prescribed, especially antidepressants. medicine for chills, coughs, or allergies; naloxone (Narcan); naltrexone (ReVia); other pain relievers; sedatives; sleeping pills; tranquilizers; and vitamins.
- Tell your doctor if you have had or have had difficulty breathing, including asthma and other respiratory illnesses, liver or kidney disease, severe inflammation, bowel disease, or a history of drug dependence.
- Tell your doctor if you are pregnant, are planning to become pregnant or are breastfeeding. If you become pregnant while taking Nalbuphine, contact your doctor.
- If you are going to face surgery, including dental surgery, tell your doctor or dentist if you are taking Nalbuphine.
- You should know that this drug will make you drowsy. Do not drive a car or operate machinery until you know nalbuphine can affect you.
- Note that alcohol can increase the drowsiness caused by this drug.
Is Nalbuphine safe for pregnant and lactating women?
There are no adequate studies regarding the risks of using this drug in pregnant or nursing women. Always consult your doctor to weigh the potential benefits and risks before using this medication. Side effects
What are the possible side effects of Nalbuphine?
Call for emergency medical help if you have an allergic reaction: hives, difficulty breathing, swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.
Call your doctor right away if you experience serious side effects such as:
- Limp or shortness of breath
- Heartbeat fast or slow
- Cheerful, clammy skin
- Confusion, hallucinations, unusual thoughts or behavior
- Severe weakness or drowsiness
- Feel like passing out
Milder side effects that can occur, such as:
- Feeling nervous or tired
- Depression
- Weird dream
- Stomach ache, stomach pain
- Bitter taste in mouth
- Itchy or burning skin, rash
- Blurred vision, difficulty speaking
- Dizziness (hot, red, or tingly)

10 mg / 70 kg registered IV, IM, or subcutaneously every 3-6 hours as needed.
Maximum unit dose: 20 mg

General Adult Dose for Anesthesia
Supplements to balance anesthesia:
Induction dose: 0.3-3 mg / kg IV in 10-15 minutes.
Maintenance dose: 0.25-0.5 mg / kg once IV. Can be repeated if needed
