What medicine is Latanoprost + Timolol?
What is latanoprost + timolol for?
Latanoprost / Timolol maleate is a drug used in ocular hypertension and open angle glaucoma.
How do I use latanoprost / timolol?
Latanoprost / Timolol eye drops contain the preservative bezalkonium chloride, which can be absorbed by contact lenses and cause eye irritation. If you wear contact lenses, you must remove them before using these eye drops. You will need to wait at least 15 minutes before installing it again. Wash your hands before using the eye drops. One drop is applied to the affected eye once a day. This drug is most effective when dropped in the evening. After using the eye drops, immediately close your eyes and press on the tear glands (at the corner of the eye closest to your nose) for about 2 minutes. This minimizes the amount of drug that may be absorbed by the bloodstream which can increase the local effect on the eye and minimize side effects in other parts of the body. When using eye drops, do not touch the dropper tip to any surface, or to your eye, to avoid contamination of the drops. If you miss a dose use the next dose as usual. Do not use the eye drops twice a day. Do not use more than the recommended dose, as using the eye drops more than once a day can reduce their effectiveness.
