What is the Juvisync drug for?
Juvisync is an oral drug that consists of a combination of two types of drugs, namely sitagliptin and simvastatin. Sitagliptin is an oral diabetes medication that is used to help type two diabetes patients control their blood sugar levels. Meanwhile, simvastatin is a drug that functions to reduce levels of bad cholesterol (LDL) and triglycerides, as well as increase levels of good cholesterol, aka HDL in the blood.
Sitagliptin in Juvisync works to control blood sugar by regulating the amount of insulin released, especially after eating. Treatment using Juvisync is usually reserved for patients with type two diabetes who also have high cholesterol levels. Although it is used to control blood sugar levels in patients with type two diabetes, this combination drug is not used to treat people with type one diabetes.
Juvisync is a drug that when taken in conjunction with a regular diet and exercise program for type two diabetes (people with diabetes) can prevent the risk of kidney damage, blindness, nerve problems, amputation, and sexual function problems that can arise due to poor blood sugar control. . Side effects

Is Juvisync safe for pregnant and lactating women?
There has not been sufficient research conducted on pregnant and lactating women regarding the use of Juvisync and its risks to pregnancy. Always consult your doctor before taking this drug. According to the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the equivalent of the Indonesian Food and Drug Administration (Badan POM) in Indonesia, this drug is included in the risk of pregnancy category X (contraindicated).
Experiments conducted on animals have shown that sitagliptin is excreted by the body through breast milk, whereas it is not known for the simvastatin content in it. However, there are no known data for human breast milk. Nursing mothers are advised to stop treatment with Juvisync if they wish to breastfeed.
