What is Jardiance medicine?

Jardiance is an oral drug intended for people with type 2 diabetes to help control blood sugar levels in their bodies.

What is the Jardiance dosage for adults?

The recommended starting dose for taking Jardiance is 10 mg once per day.

For patients with tolerance to Empagliflozin (the active substance in Jardiance) who have an eGFR ≥60 ml / min / 1.73 m2 and require increased glycemic control, the dose can be increased to 25 mg per day. The maximum daily dose is 25 mg.

Drug Interactions

What medicines may interact with Jardiance?

The use of thiazides and diuretics together with this medicine will increase the risk of dehydration and hypotension, aka low blood pressure.

Concomitant use with sulfonylurea class insulin can also increase the risk of hypoglycemia.
