What is the fluocinolone drug for?
Fluocinolone is a medicine to treat various skin conditions such as eczema, dermatitis, allergies, rashes. Fluocinolone reduces the swelling, itching, and redness that can occur as a result of these conditions.
Fluocinolone belongs to the class of corticosteroid drugs in intermediate levels.
How are the rules for using fluocinolone drugs?
Use fluocinolone on the skin only. However, do not use it on the face, groin, or armpits unless directed to do so by your doctor.
Wash and dry your hands before using them. Clean and dry the affected area. Lightly apply the medication to the affected area and rub in gently, usually 3-4 times a day or as directed by your doctor. Do not bandage, cover, or wrap the treated area unless directed to do so by your doctor. If used in the diaper area of babies, do not use tight diapers or plastic pants.
After applying the medicine, wash your hands unless you are using this medicine to treat your hands. When applying this medication near the eye, avoid the eyeball as it can worsen or cause glaucoma. Also, avoid getting this medication from the inside of your nose or mouth. If you get medicine in this area, rinse with plenty of water.
Use this medication only for the condition for which it was prescribed. Don't use it for more than specified.
Tell your doctor if your condition does not improve or gets worse after 2 weeks.

How to store Fluocinolone?
This medication is best stored at room temperature, away from direct light and damp places. Don't keep it in the bathroom. Don't freeze it. Other brands of this drug may have different storage rules. Observe the storage instructions on the product package or ask your pharmacist. Keep all medicines away from children and pets.
Do not flush medicines down the toilet or down the drain unless instructed to do so. Discard this product when it has expired or when it is no longer needed. Consult your pharmacist or local waste disposal company about how to safely dispose of your product.

Before using Fluocinolone,
- Tell your doctor and pharmacist if you are allergic to fluocinolone or any other medications

- Tell your doctor if you have an infection or have ever had diabetes, glaucoma, cataracts, circulatory disorders, or immune disorders.

Common side effects of fluocinolone are:
- Mild, hot, peeling, or dry skin itching; thinning or softening of your skin
- Swollen hair follicles
- Blisters, pimples, or crusting on the skin being treated
- Treated skin discoloration
- Skin rash or irritation around your mouth; or stretch marks
Stop using this medication and call your doctor if you have severe irritation each time using this medicine, or if you show signs of topical fluocinolone absorption through your skin, such as:
- Blurred vision, headaches
- Thinning skin, easy bruising
- Mood changes
- Weight gain, face swelling
- muscle weakness, feeling tired
Not everyone experiences the following side effects. There may be some side effects not listed above. If you have concerns about certain side effects, consult your doctor or pharmacist.

- Cataract
- Separated retina (eye disorder)
- Endophthalmitis (inflammation of the eye) - Use with caution. It might make things worse
- Eye infections caused by viruses, fungi, or bacteria
- Glaucoma (increased pressure in the eye)
- Herpes infection of the eye - Should not be used in patients with this condition

What is the dose of fluocinolone for adults?
Apply a thin layer on damp skin, on the skin area to be treated, three times a day for no more than 4 weeks.

- Children 1 year and older: Apply thinly to the affected area 2 to 4 times a day.
- Children 2 years and over: Apply thinly to damp skin on the affected area, 2 times a day for no more than 4 weeks.

What to do in an emergency or overdose?
In case of an emergency or overdose, contact the local emergency services provider (119) or immediately to the nearest hospital emergency department.
What should I do if I forget to take medicine or forget to take medicine?
If you forget a dose of this medicine, take it as soon as possible. However, when it is nearing the time of the next dose, skip the missed dose and return to the usual dosing schedule. Don't double the dose.
