Can food or alcohol interact with deflazacort?

What health conditions can interact with deflazacort?

• You have brittle or weak bones called osteoporosis
• You or someone in your family has an eye problem called glaucoma
• You have an underactive thyroid gland
• You have problems with your digestive system, including your food tract (esophagitis), intestines (ulcerative colitis, diverticulitis) or stomach (peptic ulcer)
• You have experienced adverse reactions such as muscle weakness due to any steroid medication
• You have had or are currently having an infection caused by a virus or fungus. These conditions include infections such as athlete's foot, mouth sores and cold sores (which can also affect the eyes)
• You have had or are currently having tuberculosis (TB)
• You have had or are having problems with your blood vessels such as blood clotting problems.

Overdose

What should I do in an emergency or overdose?

In case of an emergency or overdose, contact the local emergency services provider (112) or immediately to the nearest hospital emergency department.

What should I do if I miss a dose?

If you forget a dose of this medicine, take it as soon as possible. However, when it is nearing the time of the next dose, skip the missed dose and return to the usual dosing schedule. Don't double the dose.
