What is the function of Clamoxyl?

Clamoxyl is a drug commonly used for infections caused by bacteria, such as tonsillitis, bronchitis, pneumonia, gonorrhea, and ear, nose, throat, skin, or urinary tract infections.

Clamoxyl is also sometimes used together with another antibiotic called clarithromycin (Biaxin) to treat stomach ulcers caused by Helicobacter pylori infection. This combination sometimes used with a stomach acid reducer is called lansoprazole (Prevacid). .

How do you use Clamoxyl?

• Use Clamoxyl exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Follow all directions on your prescription label. Do not take this medication in amounts greater or less or for longer than recommended.
• Take this medication at the same time every day.
• While using Clamoxyl, you may need frequent blood tests. Your kidney and liver function may also need to be checked.
• If you are taking Clamoxyl with clarithromycin and / or lansoprazole to treat ulcers, take all of your medications as directed. Read the medication manual or patient instructions provided with each medication. Do not change your dose or medication schedule without your doctor's advice.
• Use this medication for the specified period of time. Your symptoms may clear up before the infection is completely cleared. Skipping doses can also increase the risk of further infection that is resistant to antibiotics. Clamoxyl will not treat viral infections such as flu or colds.
• Do not share this medication with other people, even if they have the same symptoms as you.

How to store Clamoxyl?

Clamoxyl is best stored at room temperature, away from direct light and damp places. Don't keep it in the bathroom. Don't freeze it. Other brands of this drug may have different storage rules. • Clamoxyl can make birth control pills less effective
