Each woman's vaginal size, the same or different

In a study conducted in 2005, experts took vaginal measurements on about 50 women. Then, is the vaginal size of all women the same?

The British Journal of Obstectrics and Gynecology conducted a study of 50 women, this research was published in the Journal of Minimally Invasive Gynecology. Below, you can see the results of measurements made by these experts.

1. Labia minora

The labia minora are the inner, smaller lips that surround a woman's vaginal opening. The labia minora are divided into left and right. The average width of the left labia minora is about 2.1 cm with a variation between 0.4-6.4 cm. The average width of the right labia minora is about 1.9 cm, with variations between 0.3-7 cm.

The average length of the left labia minora is about 4 cm (almost the same as the length of a small carrot, with a variation of 1.2-7.5 cm. The average length of the right labia minora is about 3.8 cm, with a variation of 0.8-8 cm.

This shows that the length and width of the labia minora of each woman can be different. In addition, the size between the right and left labia minora is different.

2. Labia majora

The labia majora are the outer lips that surround your labia minora. The average length of the labia majora is about 8.1 cm, with variations between 4-11.5 cm.

Keep in mind that as you get older, the size of your labia minora and majora will also get smaller.

3. The clitoris

Just as the size of the labia minora and labia majora varies from woman to woman, so it is with the clitoris. According to the study, the participants' average clitoris width was about 0.8 cm, with a variation between 0.2-2.5 cm.

Meanwhile, the participants' average clitoris length was about 1.6 cm (slightly smaller than your trouser buttons), with a variation of between 0.4-4 cm.

One interesting thing that experts found is that the size of the clitoris is related to how often a woman manages to reach orgasm during intercourse.

If you can reach orgasm every time you have sex with a partner, then you may have a larger clitoris than women who can only reach orgasm in other ways.

4. The vaginal opening

Experts found that the average depth of the vaginal opening for a woman is about 9.6 cm, with variations between 6.5-12.5 cm.

Meanwhile, the average width of the vaginal canal is about 2.1-3.5 cm. The width of the vaginal canal that is too small (2.1 cm) can make a woman feel pain every time she has intercourse.

Keep in mind that the size of the depth and width of the vaginal opening can change when a woman has intercourse and gives birth.

The point is if you don't experience complaints or pain during intercourse, then you most likely have a normal vaginal shape and size.
