Schools are supposed to be safe places for children. However, who would have thought that there were so many sources of disease in school that could attack your sons and daughters. Don't worry, usually the types of diseases that are often transmitted at school are not too serious and can be handled.
However, you still have to be vigilant so that children are not susceptible to contracting various types of diseases in the following schools.
The types of diseases in schools that are easy to spread
1. Cough, runny nose, and sore throat
Coughs, colds and sore throat are very common in school children. These three diseases are usually a symptom of flu.
The flu is easily transmitted through the air, for example when someone who is sick with the flu coughs and sneezes so that they release germs. If it is inhaled and gets into the child's body when his immune system is weak, the child will be infected.
Because this disease is usually caused by a virus, a good preventive way is to increase the child's resistance to disease.
2. Chicken pox
Almost every child has experienced a disease caused by this Varicella zoster virus. Chickenpox occurs quite often in school and can last from seven to ten days. If one person gets chickenpox, it will almost certainly spread to the friends around him.
Chickenpox is very easily transmitted to people around the patient. If your child has chickenpox, ask the child to rest at home first so that it does not spread to his friends. It's best to wait until the smallpox outbreaks are completely dry so that the risk of transmission is reduced or completely eliminated.
3. Diarrhea
Diarrhea is a common symptom that has many causes. For example, food intolerance (for example lactose), food allergies, bacterial and viral infections, to intestinal diseases.
Diarrhea is common enough in school that it tends not to be taken seriously. In fact, if left untreated, children who have diarrhea can become seriously dehydrated.
So that children don't get diarrhea, teach your little one to wash their hands with soap, avoid snacks in random places, and store their food properly.
4. Worms
A very common disease in schools is worms. Worms are common in children under the age of 10.
This disease occurs because worms or worm eggs enter the body's organs through food or other surfaces contaminated with worm eggs. For example, when children play in the school yard or snack carelessly.
There are many types of worms that affect children. However, one of the most common is the pinworm or Enterobius vermicularis. The symptoms that appear are persistent itching around the anus, even around pain and irritation.
So that children do not get worms, remind children to always wash their hands after playing in the open (especially if they come into contact with the ground) and before eating.
