Causes of toothache during fasting
Toothache tends to be easy to experience when fasting, especially if you do have sensitive teeth. This is because the oral cavity is in a drier state than usual due to reduced chewing activity during fasting. Now, as a result of the reduced chewing activity, the production of saliva becomes less so that it cannot protect sensitive teeth as a whole.
If the toothache you feel is due to cavities, you should immediately consult a doctor. The reason is, a cavity tooth will not heal if treatment is not done on the part of the cavity, it will even worsen the condition of your teeth. Taking painkillers can indeed relieve pain, but only temporarily. After the medicinal effect wears off, the tooth will hurt again.

The trick, mix half a tablespoon of salt in a glass of warm water, then rinse your mouth for a few moments. Apart from being an analgesic, gargling with salt water can also clean teeth from bacteria that cause pain.
2. Compress using ice cubes
There are other easy ways you can do when fasting when you have a toothache, namely by compressing an ice cube. Put ice cubes in a small plastic, then stick the plastic on your cheek or place it directly on the sore tooth area for 15 minutes to numb the tooth nerve.
3. Clove oil
Cloves are a traditional medicine that has the main chemical compound eugenol which acts as a natural anesthetic. Before applying clove oil to the problematic tooth area, make sure you have cleaned the tooth area by brushing. Then, pour two drops of clove oil on a cotton ball and place it on the affected tooth while pressing for a few minutes until the pain subsides.
You can get this clove oil at the nearest pharmacy, if not available, use powdered cloves or whole cloves and stick it on the aching tooth.
4. Gargle with hydrogen peroxide liquid
Hydrogen peroxide is a mild antiseptic that can be used on the skin and as a mouth wash. Mix hydrogen peroxide liquid with water and then rinse in your mouth for 1 minute. Then discard and rinse with plain water.
Important to note: make sure you mix hydrogen peroxide liquid with water, because hydrogen peroxide will injure the mouth and gums if used in its pure form.
