Mazindol is a stimulant drug used to treat obesity. This drug belongs to a type of sympathomimetic amine, which is similar to amphetamines. Mazindol is classified as an anti-obesity agent, also known as anorexia drug. Mazindol stimulates the central nervous system (nerves and brain) which will increase your heart rate and blood pressure, and reduce your appetite.
Use this medication only as prescribed by your doctor. The use of drugs outside of their original function can cause dangerous side effects.
How do I use mazindol?
Follow the rules given by your doctor or pharmacist before starting treatment. If you have any questions, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
Take this medication as directed by your doctor. If you do not understand the directions, ask your pharmacist, nurse or doctor to explain them to you.
Take each dose with a full glass of water.

What is the mazindol dosage for adults?
The usual adult dosage for obesity
Adult
Initial dose: 0.5-1 mg / day in the morning. The dose can be increased to 1.5-2 mg / day after 1 week, depending on the patient's response.
Max dose: 3 mg / day in divided doses.
Duration of treatment: 4-6 weeks. Max: 12 weeks.
