What Drug Hexetidine?
What is hexetidine for?
Hexetidine is an antiseptic. This medicine can be used as a mouthwash or a liquid to rinse your mouth. Hexetidine kills bacteria and fungi and is therefore used to treat minor oral infections, including thrush. Hexetidine can also be used to treat other oral conditions that are caused or made worse by bacteria, such as gum disease, sore throat, and recurring mouth ulcers. This medication is also used to kill the bacteria that cause bad breath, and to prevent infection before and after dental surgery.
How to use hexetidine?
Hexetidine is used either as a mouthwash or as a rinse solution. This medicine must be spit out, not swallowed. At least 15ml of pure Hexetidine solution should be used to rinse your mouth each time. This treatment can be repeated two to three times a day.
How is hexetidine stored?
This medication is best stored at room temperature, away from direct light and damp places. Don't keep it in the bathroom. Don't freeze it. Other brands of this drug may have different storage rules. Observe the storage instructions on the product package or ask your pharmacist. Keep all medicines away from children and pets. Do not flush medicines down the toilet or down the drain unless instructed to do so. Discard this product when it has expired or when it is no longer needed. Consult your pharmacist or local waste disposal company about how to safely dispose of your product.
