What you need to pay attention to when using cefixime
Some other things that need to be considered when consuming Cefixime include:
- As with any antibiotic treatment, do not change the dose as well as go through the whole course of treatment. The use of antibiotics will not overall cause the level of sensitivity of the bacteria being resisted by these antibiotics is reduced. This will in fact make these bacteria more difficult to fight in the future.
- Repeated use of cefixime has the potential to cause a second infection. Immediately notify your doctor if you start experiencing symptoms of infection a second time. Your medication should be changed immediately if this happens.
- Getting the tuberculosis and typhoid vaccines while you are taking cefixime will only end in vain, because the two vaccines may not work properly. Immediately consult your doctor if your vaccination schedule conflicts with the period of your treatment with cefixime.
- The use of cefixime may affect some of the results of lab tests such as the glucose in urine test for diabetes patients. It's best to make sure the doctor who tests you knows about it.
