Zopiclone tablets are drugs to help you sleep (hypnotic sleeping pills). This drug works to manipulate the brain to feel drowsiness. This medication can be used for short-term treatment of trouble sleeping, waking up at night or early morning or trouble sleeping due to events, situations, or mental disorders, which cause extreme stress.
What are the rules for using Zopiclone?
Always take Zopiclone tablets as recommended by your doctor. You should ask your doctor or pharmacist again about the dosage if you are unsure. Tablets should be taken together with fluids as soon as possible before going to bed.
How do I store Zopiclone?
Store at room temperature, away from direct light and damp places. Don't keep it in the bathroom. Don't freeze it. Other brands of this drug may have different storage rules. Observe the storage instructions on the product package or ask your pharmacist. Keep all medicines away from children and pets.
Do not flush medicines down the toilet or down the drain unless instructed to do so. Discard this product when it has expired or when it is no longer needed. Consult your pharmacist or local waste disposal company about how to safely dispose of your product.

What should be considered before using Zopiclone?
Do not take Zopiclone tablets and tell your doctor if you experience:
- Allergy (hypersensitive) to zopiclone or other ingredients contained in tablets (see section 6). Allergic reactions can include rash, itching, difficulty breathing, swollen facial lips, throat or tongue.
- Experiencing bile disease.
- Suffering from breathing problems while sleeping (Sleep Apnea Syndrome)
- Suffering from muscle weakness (myasthenia gravis)
- Have breathing problems
- These tablets are not recommended for consumption by children.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding: There is no sufficient information regarding the safety of taking this medicine for pregnant and lactating women.
Side effects
What are the possible side effects of Zopiclone?
Like most drugs, Zopiclone tablets can cause unwanted side effects, although not everyone feels them.
If you experience it, with serious side effects, stop taking Zopiclone tablets and tell your doctor as soon as possible or contact the public services department at your nearest hospital:
- Allergic reactions: skin rash, face, lips, tongue or throat swelling, or difficulty breathing or swallowing or lightheadedness, loss of coordination.
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if any of the following side effects occur or get worse:
- Effects on the gastrointestinal system: bitter or metallic taste in the mouth, dry mouth and feeling sick or becoming sick.
- Effects on the nervous system: headache, dizziness, fatigue, irritation, aggression, confusion, depression, amnesia, hallucinations or nightmares.
- Miscellaneous: sometimes lack of sleep can also occur when you stop taking tablets, usually resulting in long-term dependence.

Drug Interactions
What drugs can interfere with the work of the Zopiclone drug?
Although several drugs should not be taken at the same time, in other cases, 2 drugs can be taken at the same time although interactions may occur. In this case, your doctor may change the dose, or another prescription may be given if needed. Tell your healthcare professional if you are taking any other prescription or nonprescription (over the counter OTC) drugs.
Can certain foods and drinks interfere with the work of the Zopiclone drug?
Some medicines should not be used or taken around meal times or around eating certain types of food because interactions may occur. Using alcohol or cigarettes with some medications may also cause drug interactions. Discuss with your healthcare professional about your drug's relationship with food, alcohol, or cigarettes.
What health conditions can interfere with the performance of the Zopiclone drug?
The presence of other health problems may have an impact on the use of this drug. Make sure you tell your doctor about any health problems you have, especially:
- Have kidney or bile problems
- Have a history of mental illness
- Have or have had a history or predisposition to alcohol or drugs or a personal disorder.

What is the dose of Zopiclone for adults?
Adults: 7.5 mg at bedtime.
Older people: A lower dose, 3.75 mg can be used initially. This dose can be increased up to 7.5 mg.

Safety and effectiveness cannot be ascertained in pediatric patients (under 18 years).

What to do in an emergency or overdose?
In case of an emergency or overdose, contact the local emergency services provider (119) or immediately to the nearest hospital emergency department.
What should I do if I forget to take medicine or forget to take medicine?
If you forget a dose of this medicine, take it as soon as possible. However, when it is nearing the time of the next dose, skip the missed dose and return to the usual dosing schedule. Don't double the dose.
