Use
What is the function of Sophtal?
Sophtal is an eye drop commonly used to treat symptoms of blepharitis, conjunctivitis, irritation due to dust, smoke, sun. If used in infectious diseases, it should not be used without adequate anti-infectious therapy.
Sophtal may be prescribed for other uses: ask your doctor or pharmacist for more information.
How do you use Sophtal?
- Wash your hands and sit or stand in front of the mirror.
- Open the cap of the bottle.
- Tilt your head and slowly pull your lower eyelid.
- Hold the dropper over one eye. Squeeze 1 drop by gently pulling on the lower eyelid. Try not to touch your eyes, eyelashes, or anything with the dropper tip in order to keep the medicine sterile.
- Remove the eyelids and close the eyes for as long as possible (2-3 minutes at least). After application of the eye drops, tilt your head towards the floor.
- Squeeze gently on the tear duct (inner corner) with 1 finger for a minute.
- Repeat for the other eye if drops have been prescribed for both eyes.
- When 2 types of drops must be used at the same time, wait at least 5 minutes before putting the second drop on the eye. This is so that the first drops are not lost or washed away.

How to save Sophtal?
Sophtals are best stored at room temperature, away from direct light and damp places. Don't keep it in the bathroom. Don't freeze it. Other brands of this drug may have different storage rules.
